INTERFAITH HEALTH ADVOCATES
___________________________________________________________________

The Interfaith Health Advocates are a group of health educated members of congregations from across the state of Delaware, that want to help support the health of their congregations and communities. They function as lay health advisors, promoting health and advocating for healthy lifestyles within their churches.

The Interfaith Health Advocates are located in faith-based communities and serve as lay counselors, mentors and referral agents for their congregations and communities. They receive both initial and in-service training, ongoing support and opportunities for connection with other volunteers as well as experts from their field.

The Interfaith Health Advocates also help to facilitate prevention education programs on health issues, especially professional training and leadership development programs for those who work in congregational settings.

The Interfaith Health Advocates are part of the Delaware Ecumenical Council on Children and Families, a faith-based health advocacy, education and services organization.

INTERFAITH HEALTH ADVOCATES ARE SO
IMPORTANT BECAUSE …
successful health ministries do not always require licensed professionals. Lay health advisors have been shown to be very effective at improving the health, safety and wellness of congregations and even whole communities. This is true especially where caring and concerned people are helping other people.

WILL YOU HELP?
As an Interfaith Health Advocate, you can play a crucial role in improving the health status of our congregations and communities in Delaware. By helping someone learn more about a health issue and/or change her lifestyle you can save lives and make lives better.

Please be a part of this vital program!
